Missouri car insurance laws are administered by the Missouri Department of Revenue and both the Missouri DMV and law enforcement officials have the right to request proof of insurance. Currently (2010) any vehicles registered in Missouri must carry auto insurance with at least the following minimum coverage:
Liability Insurance
- $25,000 bodily injury liability per accident per person
- $50,000 bodily injury liability per accident for all persons
- $10,000 property damage liability
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
- $25,000 UIM liability per accident per person
- $50,000 UIM liability per accident for all persons
