Car insurance is mandatory in Alaska and current (2010) auto insurance requirements as set by Alaska Department of Insurance require all drivers to have at least the following minimum levels of liability coverage:
- $50,000 of bodily injury liability insurance per accident per person
- $100,000 bodily injury liability insurance per accident (all persons)
- $25,000 of property damage liability
